Sourcing our wheat

We are committed to sourcing our wheat from the local Yorkshire & Lincolnshire area; in fact this location at the heart of the UK's wheat belt area - which is one of the highest yielding in the world - was one of the prime reasons for bringing our investment here. 

Although much of this locally grown wheat is currently used for animal feed, this lower grade wheat produced in the UK is ideal for fermentation due to its high starch content. Our process will transform approximately half of the wheat used into a protein animal feed which will offer much greater benefits to UK agriculture in terms of the quality and consistency of the product. Vivergo has chosen to work with Frontier Agriculture as our sole wheat supplier and we feel confident that our demand can be met from UK sources. Frontier will source around 1.1 million tonnes of feed wheat for our production process each year - making us the biggest single tip point for wheat in the UK.
